Before n After: Back to this Place

"I'm going back to my original nest today.  I can't wait to see my family, friends, and the change of everything!  I'm going to go "trigger happy" with my DSLR on the freshly plowed fields, budding trees, aging barns, and places of my past"

A Nostalgic Country Touch
  1. Start by adding the Barn Siding Texture on a blending mode of overlay at half opacity for a country touch
  2. Duplicate the Layer [Ctrl J] and change the new layers blending mode to darker color
  3. Slip the opacity of the 2nd layer to between 50% and 60%
  4. For a layer of nostalgia add the French Article Texture
  5. Set the blending mode to darker color too and lower the opacity to around 70%
  6. Create a layer mask for each texture, select a round brush on a normal blending mode, and brush away texture from area you want to keep sharp

  2. Wow, going backwards in your posts.. I love all the textures you use. Every single photo is like a framable print. I love how you either use textures sparingly or alot depending on the shot. You've got a great eye! Just gorgeous, every single one of these..

    Tiffany,
I used a vintage suitcase as my backdrop and just added textures.

    Chantale,
I think my head just got bigger! Thanks!

  4. I just wanted to say, I simply adore your photos and edits. They have such a unique charm to them! I've been having a little fun with some Florabella textures with words on them and I just go NUTS! Such a sweet final edit.

  6. I love the way you use texture with writing -- I've never gotten that to work on any of my edits.
