Texture Twist: Autumn's Admiral and Colors of Autumn Giveaway Winners Announced

First of all let me say a BIG --- THANK YOU --- to everyone who joined me Kristy, Life-n-Reflection and Lisa, Simply Living for the Colors of Autumn Photography Challenge! We are so excited to announce the winners of the Challenge and Giveaway...

The Colors of Autumn Photography Awards go to -

1st Place Carol, Pur et Simple
2nd Place Julia, On the Mammilade
3rd Place Patrica, Peabea's Scribbles

Isn't he a beauty?! I found this Red Admiral Butterfly quite striking at a local butterfly sanctuary. He summers here in the Midwest through October, then he returns to sunny Texas. And oh my, I can tell you from my experience living in Texas winters are much easier there than the Midwest. I'll be wishing I could fly that way too when Autumn turns cold. Check out this article from Clickin Moms for tips on including the foreground in your photograph.

The Seasons: Prairie Plumes

These pretty plumes stand tall at the base of our hillside in the front garden. The bees love them! Lamb's Ear earned it's name for the soft leaves that truly feel like a lamb's soft ear.

The Journey: Migratory Sunshine

As the days spread into weeks and weeks into months; the days of sunshine migrate across the calendar.
Here we are half way into the year. Reflecting on the year thus far,  I think of happy days as sunshine in our lives. Although, some days we have to make our sunshine it's still certainly been a sunny year.

Seasons: Spring Surprise

One of the best things about Spring are the everyday surprises we happen upon such as; robins nesting, blooming tree buds, and the hills transformed into green.
