Sepia Saturday

I took this photograph on a farmstead in Illinois.  My Dad always finds some incredible places to shoot in the Midwest.  I'm always intrigued by the history of a place and how time changes things.  The farm is still a working farm.  Except their only products are crops.  Yet, it has been farmed by the same family for generations.  That is a rare thing today! Learn more about our history - inspired by photographs at Sepia Saturday. And if you're looking for a project this weekend check out the Saturday Soiree or the Sunday Creative!

  1. I love this - it reminds me of some old buildings by my house. I may tinker around with some editing on my end.

  4. Such a lovely photo; not many farms in NZ would be owned by the same family through many generations but I happen to be reading about one now that has been in the same family since the farm was formed in the 1850's.

  6. That is a really beautiful photograph : the shades seem to blend together and give a feeling of the stillness and history of the place. Great Sepia Saturday contribution.

  10. Oh... and vegemite is a type of spread (for bread) which is only found in Australia. It's made out of yeast extract and it very salty, with a distinct taste.

  11. Oh my! I'm sure how that can taste good? I have yeast in my fridge for making bread and it smells bitter.
