Seasons

Fruits of Autumn,
I found these wild berries growing at the entrance to an old silo. I gather the silo was made by company in Missouri.  I wish it had the date stamped with it.  The berries are called Boysenberry.  As a kid I called them poison berries and my mother warned us not to eat wild berries. Funny thing is I showed these photos to my husband and he said they're not poison.  In fact his grandmother used to make boysenberry jam. And guess what - we found a jar of it in a shop near the Galleria in Dallas.   It has a similar taste to black berry jam. Are there any wild berries growing near you this season?

  3. These are so beautiful! I love your processing! There are red berries around here (though I don't know their name - I think I'll have to put them up) and then bittersweet (or so I learned, not that I knew before... ;-) )

  5. So THAT's what boysenberries look like! (and, can understand how a kid could be confused; boysenberry and poison berry sound quite a bit alike ;D) I love the processing!

Thanks for linking up to Life. Captured! I love your processing! Such soft, beautiful texture. Also love the background~poison berry. It's so funny how our minds work when we are little. You've done a great job of capturing a bit of nostalgia, especially so with the processing.
