Spoon River Country
Standing tall over the village of Smithfield IL, located in Fulton county in what is know as Spoon River Country. The village was laid out in1868 and named Smithfield in honor of Dr. Smith. On the first and second weekend of October Spoon River Drive, an Arts and Craft is held in the village square. And along the riverbank a civil war reenactment can be seen. I watched a few years ago as the soldiers set up camp, cooked fish over a fire, and cleaned their rifles. It's just my kind of place to be on a the crisp October morning!

What a sweet shot and gorgeous building. And sounds like another one who is looking forward to autumn - with all the delightful fall activities, trees, leaves in vivid colour! I know I can't wait! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, I just love buildings like this. Do you suppose the buildings we build these days will be admired and photographed like these someday? I think not.
