This is what I call "Country Skyscrapers"! We saw a lot of these on your recent road trip across the American Plains.
texture - ology
- To give the sky a lovely shade of aqua drop and drag the sometimes cool texture over your image
- Select the overlay blending mode and lower the opacity to just the right blue
- To add a vintage appeal drop on the wanderlust overlay #3
- Blend this layer on overlay and reduce the opacity to 50%

I love the retro effects, gorgeous tones (and you guys are so lucky to live where there's such amazing scenery etc...I want to be there too!!) :)
ReplyDeleteRuth, from what I've seen - you could turn any landscape into beauty!
DeleteI love your take on country skyscrapers!
ReplyDeleteLove these. I wanna take pictures where you do! Looks like such a nice area.
ReplyDeleteI love a windmill. Very pretty!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love these countryscapes and all of your images are stunning!
ReplyDeleteThese are really nice! Love the windmill!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tones, I love the aqua.
ReplyDeleteI think you could be right about the barn collapsing behind the trees, but that silo still makes for a great subject... love the windmill, too! Wouldn't mind exploring the trees to find the barn if it wasn't so grown over... I don't get along w/ ticks & chiggers too well! LoL!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining, Kristy! =)
Me either Tricia, I encountered chiggers once at my cousin's farm when I was kid. Count me out on itchy bites.
DeleteLove these! The colors seem to mirror each other in a very complimentary way!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Kristy. Love both of these rural scenes. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots! I love that phrase "country skyscrapers"!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheryl, I would love to make a coffee table book titled with that phrase and filled with hundreds of examples!
DeleteWell done, love the retro tones!
